This Ain't Your Mama's Gospel Music: Kim-Char Meredith Comes "Out" With Christian Music CD
Kim-Char Meredith was an established Christian singer when she came "out" in 1996. Many churches quickly closed their doors to the nationally touring artist, who then migrated into a successful "mainstream" music career. Meredith's new CD release, Paper Knife, is a joyful return to her contemporary Christian music roots -- and this time Meredith is singing God's praises as an out lesbian. As a longtime user of Windows, I felt I knew and understood that platform pretty well and the jolt of cutting over cold turkey was both surprising and refreshing.

Web Hosting Provider, Goldleaf Full Site SSL Certificate, Deployed by Shore Bank
Atlanta, Georgia - (The Hosting News) - September 9, 2008 - Financial institution web hosting and design technology solutions firm, Goldleaf Financial Solutions, Inc., has been chosen by Onley, Virginia based Shore Bank, to enhance security, with Goldleaf's new full site secure sockets layer (SSL) capabilities.
SSL is a standard security technology within the industry, however, unlike other SSL solutions available today, Goldleaf's solution also improves the performance of online access and paging, which means that navigating speed within the Website is not compromised because of the added security.
Lisa Lentz, Vice President of Shore Bank noted, ''As more of our customers move toward Internet Banking, it has become absolutely critical that our Web site has the highest level of security available. It was important for us to find a solution that is secure without sacrificing performance in the process. Goldleaf's SSL solution allows us to have both, which is crucial to our operations and that of our customers. Being able to provide a secure web site that protects customer data and ensures that all data passed between our website and our customer's browser remains private and secure is invaluable and enables Shore Bank to stand out from the competition.''
With no shortage of phishing and pharming scams, and fraudsters becoming more sophisticated, it's paramount that financial institutions go the extra mile to protect customer information and browsing patterns. Goldleaf's full site SSL solution accomplishes this and enables institutions to protect their reputation in the market, while mitigating fraudulent losses and minimizing customer turnover due to inadequate security measures. SSL is the most recognized way for customers to check the validity of a website, and is created from a Certificate Authority (CA), a private company that issues digital certificates. Goldleaf handles all the certificate management, including that certificates do not expire and are upgraded as necessary.
Todd Shiver, EVP at Goldleaf commented ''Our security solutions are second to none. Within the financial services industry, Goldleaf has always taken a leadership role and today, the company is recognized as a premier provider of quality products and services. Not only do we stand out in our customer service, but also in our ability to anticipate the needs of our customers, and then go one step further. As a result, we developed full site SSL to ensure the maximum protection and capabilities available. The feedback has been tremendous, which really speaks to our ability to foresee the security needs in the market.''
Goldleaf Financial Solutions, Inc. (GFSI) offers a product suite that provides core data processing, item processing and check imaging, ACH origination and processing, remote check capture and deposit processing, accounts receivable financing solutions, a teller automation system, turn-key leasing solutions, financial institution website design and hosting and retail inventory management services. Goldleaf believes its suite of products and services allows financial institutions and small to medium-sized business customers to compete more effectively.
