Google: ?You are not getting the option to cancel your account?

I recently discovered a test AdWords account setup by an ex-staffer and while there was never any activity, it didn’t make sense to keep the AdWords or User account live since it would never be used. A cancel request was sent to Google and this was the response: “Thank you for your email. I am sorry [...]

Back Surgery

Back Surgery Surgery for neck or back pain can vary depending on several factors. In general, it is reasonable to consider surgery if the pain has not gotten better after several months of non surgical treatment. It may be a good idea to see a surgeon even sooner if the pain is so severe that narcotic medications are not effective and it is not possible to ... (Read on Source)

GM Researching Crazy Cool Windshield

Gmwindshield

By 2030, nearly a fifth of the U.S. population will be considered elderly, and automakers are gearing up for the uptick of senior car buyers by researching new technology that will help this demographic on the road.

One of the coolest ideas GM is looking at is a windshield that would enhance a driver's vision by utilizing infrared sensors, lasers and cameras to highlight or outline road conditions.

In the pictured example, on a foggy day the windshield outlines the road with a blue laser. The system would measure the movements of the driver's head and eyes in order to project the laser's path correctly. In addition, if a deer were to wander into the road, the system would detect it and alert the driver by outlining the deer before it was visible.

Cool, right?

Obviously, the cost of implementing this technology today is prohibitive, so don't expect to see GM's sweet new windshield anytime soon. Still, with a rapidly aging consumer base, this could well be a forecast of the way driving will change in the future.

The A-Z of Programming Languages: Python

TechWorld: "Being youthful at the time I figured I could design and implement a language "almost, but not quite, entirely unlike" ABC, improving upon ABC's deficiencies, and solve our support applications problem, so around Christmas 1989, I started hacking. For various reasons, soon after Python was complete enough to be used, that particular project was no longer as relevant, but Python proved useful to other projects at CWI, and in early 1991 (i.e. a little over a year after I started) we did the first open source release (well before the term open source had even been invented)."
