Using Bad Math to Create Bad Models to Produce Bad Results

An astute reader pointed me towards a monstrosity of pompous bogus math. It's an oldie, but I hadn't seen it before, and it was just referenced by my old buddy Sal Cordova in a thread on one of the DI blogs. It's a "debate" posted online by Lee Spetner, in which he rehashes the typical bogus arguments against evolution . I'm going to ignore most ... (Read on Source)

Mack Collier: The Dark Side of Evangelism

Ann let me know about a Twit from Michael concerning several evangelists for the V1, a three-wheeled alternative energy vehicle, organizing themselve s and attacking a blogger that they felt painted their beloved V1 in a negative light . Firefox Update Leads to Java, Flash Glitches

If you, a customer, or someone you know uses Firefox, you or they probably had to stop at some point over the past week and install it's 2.0.0.8 update. So you may want to know about this, from Percy Cabello at Mozillalinks.org:

Apple's Leopard Is Spot-On

When Steve Jobs unleashes Mac OS X Leopard on Friday, Mac fans and others considering an Apple computer for the first time will have questions. Is the new Leopard operating system worth the $129 upgrade price? Is it the reason to splurge for a new Mac? Long before Leopard pounced onto the scene, I rated OS X superior to Windows for most consumers.

Spy Camera Sunglasses Work Whether It is Night Or Day

Spy glasses are cool, but you'll get some dirty looks if you're wearing them on a cloudy day or at night. People think they've either had a hard night, are as high as kites or have a reason to lay assault charges against someone. This is one set of glasses you won't have to worry about the sunglasses camera with 4gb mp3 player and built in earphones. Most of the spy cameras we've seen have one lens and that's it. This pair of spy camera sunglasses has interchangeable lenses as well as a MP3 player, so any P.I could be listening to their tunes while scoping out the scene. How silly is it for a security guard to wear dark sunglasses at night? Unless they've got a really bad methamphetamine habit there's really no point in putting them on. The same can be said for any sunglasses camera you may choose to use at night. You're not going to see what to aim the camera at in dark corners but that's where the action is probably going to happen. With these sunglasses with a camera there's not that problem. You'd be able to see in any light conditions with the interchangeable dark and clear lenses and there's a MP3 player thrown in to boot.. definitely good stuff for anybody interested in spy gadgets, high tech eyewear or digital mp3 player sunglasses. The spy glass sun glasses also have multi shot functionality, a remote control and a 2GB MP3 player packed inside. This is one set of gadget glasses that have more function than MacGyver's knife.

If you want to learn more about the sunglasses camera with 4gb mp3 player and built in earphones or any of the other <a href=" http://www.chinavasion.com/index.php/cName/surveillance-equipment-spy-camera/" target="blank" title="spy surveillance cameras">wholesale spy cameras</a> available at Chinavasion. Find the Middle Ground

More often than not the posters I see suffer from too much or too little.

This is always going to be about the information you have on your poster. It isn’t an easy thing to find the right kind of middle ground that contains just the right amount of information, and how much you say is often going to be the decider on whether or not your poster printing is successful.

The poster with too much information suffers from the fact that people aren’t going to care about reading that much. A poster like this is going to be less likely to gain someone’s attention in the first place, given that there are so many words on the poster. But even if it does initially get a person’s attention it’ll have a lot of trouble holding it because it’s trying to say too much to them, and people will quickly become bored and distracted from it.

On the other end of things the poster that doesn’t say enough will be more likely to get someone to actually walk up and look at it, but it won’t get its message across as well. The less words you have on the poster the more images you’ll like have, and images are better and grabbing the eye than words.

Once they do start looking over your poster thought they won’t come away with very much information. They won’t always know what you wanted them to, because you spent too much time on the images while failing to provide the right amount of information.

There isn’t a formula you can use to be sure that you have the perfect balance with your poster printing. A lot of this is going to be trial and error, but what you can do is take advantage of other people’s trial and error periods.

Take a look over all of the different posters you’ve seen other companies using over the years. Judging how successful they were might not be the easiest thing to do, but if you pay attention to their sales along with the various types of marketing they were using, you can gauge whether or not their posters helped them out.

Form focus groups to discuss your posters and give you advice on what you need to do. Why not ask the very people who you’re going to be trying to appeal to? All you need to do is show them a series of different posters with a varying amount of words and images to see which ones they like the most.

There are all sorts of different ways to make sure that your posters are as good as they can be. It’s up to you to do the needed footwork to make sure you always find that perfect middle ground, and get the most attention in the process.
