Cable giant Comcast's profit rose 80 percent in the first quarter, the company stated. One-time gains aided results, and demand for the company's triple play bundle of Web, TV and calling services remained robust. The Philadelphia-based company's revenue for the quarter hit $7.38 billion, a 32 percent increase when compared with the year before.

System Preferences - Sound
Another entry in the System Preferences series. This one is on the Sound preference pane, where you the sound settings for your computer. You have sound effects, output, and input settings.
The sound effects are not really a control for your sound effects except an on/off switch. I am talking the sound effects that your computer makes when you empty the trash or eject a disk. You can choose an alert sound, how loud that alert sound is and what speakers (if you have additional speaker hooked up) they play through.
Output is where you want your sound to output too... again, if you have additional speakers hooked up.
Input is basically the same, where you want the input to come from... an external mic, line input or internal mic.
You can also set if you want the volume showing in the menu bar and the balance from here.
Pretty simple stuff really, but I needed to add it to the System Preferences list ;)

I noted yesterday that Microsoft only had 11 more days within which to deliver the more customer-focused IE 8 Beta 2 if it were to hit its August deadline.
